Join Our Community

There’s something special about our Y. It’s not the equipment. It’s not the building. It’s the People and our Values. It’s the sense of community coming together to learn, grow and thrive. The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County is so much more than a gym or pool. At the Y, we are focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Nationwide Membership

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a member and that collects your membership dues).

At the Y, we believe that positive, lasting personal and social change can come about only when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. This strengthening of community and the realization of a Y’s full potential—has the most impact when all Ys are open to all Y members and provide safe and welcoming environments for everyone.

With Nationwide Membership, members can visit any participating Y in the United States and Puerto Rico through membership at their home Y, at no additional cost. Nationwide Membership is an essential part of our cause to strengthen communities.

Convenient Methods of Payment

Automatic Withdrawal

Monthly payments are withdrawn from your checking or savings account, debit or credit card. The joiner’s fee and pro-rated cost for your first month of membership are due when you join. There is no contract to join, and we will stop your monthly payments (with 30 days notice) once we receive your written request.

Annual / Semi-Annual / Quarterly Payment Options

Dues may be paid in full when you join and then paid annually, semi-annually, or quarterly. We accept cash, check, or credit card.

Scholarship Program

The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County does not deny anyone membership or program services due to their inability to pay. Therefore, a sliding fee scale and a scholarship program have been established to provide assistance to those in the community who need YMCA services but are unable to pay the entire fee. The sliding fee scale is based on family size and family income. The YMCA does not receive government subsidies for these scholarships.  With business and private donations to the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign we are able to provide this service to our community.  All donations are greatly appreciated and can be made any time of year by contacting the YMCA.
