No School Today Program @ Kingston YMCA for closed school days:
Winter Weather: Snow Days, Schools Delays, Early Dismissals. Oh my!
Snow Days: If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, there will be no before or after school child care.
We offer full day programs at the Kingston YMCA branch at 507 Broadway, Kingston for all schools out programs.
Please call the main number to check if we are definitely offering the program and what the exact start time is. The program may be cancelled or delayed due to the status of the YMCA facility. The phone number is 845-338-3810.
School Delays: Each district is different with what kind of delays they offer. Please find out from your child’s school website to see if 3-hour delays are used. In the case of a delay, the morning program will follow the delay. For example, a 2-hour delay will cause the 7:00am-9:00am program to run from 9:00am-11:00am. Our school districts do not offer breakfast on school delay days. Please make sure that your child receives breakfast before attending the morning program or they are sent in with breakfast.
We understand that the delay program is a convenience when parents/guardians need to go into work. If your child does not normally attend the morning program, but you are interested in attending the delay programs, please email Cailin Rooney.
Early Dismissals: If school is unexpectedly dismissed early, there will be no after school program for any School’s Out site. The students will have to take their regular bus home or be picked up at school. It is highly recommended that you make these arrangements prior to the first early dismissal so the school’s office staff will know where to send your child. Please contact your child’s school office to share your plans with them.
YMCA Child Care philosophy is to deliver a program in a positive YMCA environment of safety and care that will allow the children the opportunity to interact socially and participate in a variety of interesting non-academic activities.
