Send A Kid To Camp

Hello Community Friends –

You have been a valued part of our YMCA of Kingston & Ulster County family for years, and as we know you’re dedicated to investing in our YMCA community. Because of your history with our community, we’d love to invite you to get involved with our Send A Kid to CAMP(AIGN).

When the pandemic hit our community, the future felt so unpredictable. We knew we had to adapt fast

  • We became the distribution site of meals for the city of Kingston. Up to 12,000 meals a week were delivered to individuals and families in the city of Kingston.
  • Unforeseen childcare was an issue so we made available four, safe Emergency Childcare sites throughout Ulster County so children could go to school virtually, play and interact with other children despite the omnipresence of COVID‐19.
  • Our YMCA Lend‐A‐Wheel Program responded by providing 229 refurbished bikes, helmets and bike locks to individuals
  • Wellness checks were made to our seniors to make sure they were safe and supported.

The Send A Kid to CAMP(AIGN) will supply families in need the ability to send their kids to camp at one of our four camps and experience that same power of camp that has been changing and impacting lives for over 50 years. It is extremely important, especially now, and in this environment that kids are able to be kids and connect with nature and each other.

Just one camp experience can positively change a child’s life forever.

Children are our future, and the skills learned and relationships fostered at so many camps throughout the country are often life-changing stepping stones on the road to adulthood. Children come to camp from all walks of life, eager to learn, yearning to make new friends, ready to take on new challenges and discover gifts they didn’t know they had.

Please help us give a child a summer not to forget!

COVID-19 Vaccines

Accurate Information, Equitable Access

As the COVID-19 vaccines begin reaching the broader population, now the Y is working to ensure that everyone has equitable access to accurate information about the vaccines and to the vaccines themselves, especially Black and Brown communities, which have been disproportionately affected by the health and economic impacts of the virus.

Ys across the country are committed to providing vaccine education, and many have offered to serve as vaccine distribution sites. YMCA of the USA is supporting these efforts and joining several national health and community-serving organizations in distributing accurate information to our communities and calling for equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Below are links to expert, science-backed information about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. We encourage you to direct your family, friends and neighbors to these information sources. We will update this page as additional resources are published.
