YMCA is dedicated to fulfilling its commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. To achieve this promise to the youth of our community the YMCA has dedicated its Strong Kids Campaign Resources as well as community partners and generous funding donations to Camp STARFISH. Camp STARFISH – addresses summer learning loss, childhood health, and obesity and unintentional drownings. Thanks also to the United Way of Ulster County, United Health Care, ShopRite, Adam’s, Boices, and the Kingston City School district for making this program possible.
The goal at Camp Starfish is to develop healthy campers through active play and nutritional education. We strongly promote creativity through interactions with our community. We can all feel proud of what our Y is doing for these children. In twenty years these kids might be taking care of us, so it is very important that we give them the tools and skills needed to excel in school and to develop into responsible caring adults.
Camp is open to all children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. Camp Starfish and Kingston City School District work together to provide bussing for camper who are attending summer school so they are able to attend camp safely. The bus will pick them up from school and drop them at Camp Starfish!
Camp operates from 8:30am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday from June 29, 2020 until August 7, 2020. Camp tuition includes a daily lunch and two healthy snacks!
