UPCOMING WELLNESS PROGRAMS!
Announcement: YMCA Before & After School Programs
Thank you for your patience this year as we all waited for school district decisions to allow us to operate our Before & After School Programs this Fall. As you may know, school districts continue to be challenged with various New York State COVID-19 guidelines and requirements. Over the last couple of days we finally have most approvals to move forward.
We’re happy to report that our Before & After School Program will begin on Monday, September 20th for Kingston city schools and Monday, October 4 at all other sites:
Kingston City Schools (Chambers, Crosby, Edson)
Marbletown Elementary (Rondout)
New Paltz Schools (Lenape ONLY)
Kingston YMCA Childcare Program
We will also be offering After School Programming at the Y for the month of September along with our No School Today Drop In Childcare. A schedule and registration will be available soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We wish we could provide more immediate program opportunities. We will continue working towards supporting our communities as needed. All updates will be posted to our web site registration pages and our Schools Out Parents Facebook page.
As the COVID-19 vaccines begin reaching the broader population, now the Y is working to ensure that everyone has equitable access to accurate information about the vaccines and to the vaccines themselves, especially Black and Brown communities, which have been disproportionately affected by the health and economic impacts of the virus.
Ys across the country are committed to providing vaccine education, and many have offered to serve as vaccine distribution sites. YMCA of the USA is supporting these efforts and joining several national health and community-serving organizations in distributing accurate information to our communities and calling for equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Below are links to expert, science-backed information about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. We encourage you to direct your family, friends and neighbors to these information sources. We will update this page as additional resources are published.
