YMCA School’s Out – Before & Afterschool Programs

2026-2027 Registration is now open!

Our School’s Out programs are committed to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for all children and their families. We believe in building community in order to provide a sense of safety and belonging for all. We aim to partner with families to support children physically, mentally, and emotionally so they may reach their fullest potential.

Interested families should contact the Registrar to be added into the Admissions area of the YMCA Childcare location so they can be sent this program’s enrollment packet via brightwheel once available! These programs will be held at the Y in Kingston.

Program Model:

All our before and after school programs provide a range of activities including:

• Structured enrichment
• Indoor/outdoor physical play
• Hands-on engaging activity centers for students to explore
• Snacks

All morning programs open at 7:00 AM Monday through Friday when school is in session. 

All afternoon programs close at 6:00 PM Monday through Friday when school is in session.

How to enroll ~

Please click on the appropriate school location for your child, below, to complete our digital YMCA Before and After School Program enrollment packet – using the brightwheel child care platform! These programs are operated by the YMCA of Kingston & Ulster County and take place right at your child’s school. Kindly note, YMCA childcare fees apply and enrollment approval is required. Additional health/medical forms may also be requested and required prior to your child’s program start.

**KINDLY ALLOW 3 TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR ENROLLMENT PROCESSING ONCE YOUR CHILD’S PACKET IS SUBMITTED.** The YMCA will notify parent/caretaker(s) of approval via brightwheel message. You may expect processing delays closer to school year’s start. If program is full, we will notify on-file parent/caretaker(s) that child has been added to waitlist via brightwheel message. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO PROGRAM WITHOUT CONFIRMED ENROLLMENT APPROVAL AND FULL PROCESSING BY THE REGISTRAR.

2026-2027 SCHOOL’S OUT PRICING

Childcare rates are charged monthly and are not reduced for scheduled holidays or weather-related closures. Rates will not be prorated based on attendance. If your child does not attend program, you will not be credited or refunded. 

Parents/guardians/responsible adults are responsible for submitting payment for the month by the 20th of the month prior to attendance. A $25 late fee will be charged to all open balances as of the 1st of the month.

New York State Child Care Assistance Program:

To apply for NYS CCAP, you need to visit the Ulster County Department of Social Services Website. If you are outside of Ulster County, please check with your county social service office
